SURAJKUND MELA REDEVELOPEMENT PROPOSAL

The Vision for the project is to “Develop Suraj Kund Mela into a state-of-the-art trinity of vibrant Cultural & Ecological, Multi-purpose Recreational, Commercial & Rejuvenation Hub; interspersed with year-round activity hotspots through Redesigning, Renovating & Proposing new facilities for the complex.”

Moreover, another important goal is to make this campus “Self-sufficient” in terms of finance generation through functions which will enable the campus to transform itself into different functions depending upon the needs of the user.

DESIGN PROPOSAL

After analyzing the prevalent issues on site, certain conclusions were made which aided in the formation of certain new functions to be proposed on site.

One of the issues of parking, being inadequate and the current parking spaces being underutilized, a proposal for an MLCP (Multi Level Car Parking within the contours of site which will not only fulfill the parking requirements but also provide a safe space for car parking and further allocation of different functions to make sure that the space is never under utilized.

Moreover, the impact the current open parking had on the environment will now be designed in such a way that the building itself will be a mountain of lush green landscapes that will give back to the nature and its species.

Another important proposal of state of the art Pavillion.

Pavilions will act as a catalyst to fulfill the requirement of social gathering and performance spaces in adverse climatic conditions.
